Who We Are
Our History
Literacy and More is Philadelphia-based organization founded in 2021 by community advocate Rachel Honore. Through her early experiences navigating the early childhood education system, to her later community work experience as a Parent Navigator, a critical link between literacy deficits and resource scarcity was realized.
Our Mission
The core mission of Literacy and More is to place a book in the hand of every child we meet and to support their parents with essential resources. From baby wipes and book-bags, to diapers and literacy information, we aim to create communities where every child has the tools they need to thrive.
Our Vision
Literacy and More envisions a world where every child and their parents are literate, informed and healthy. Our primary goal is to support families in curating their own home libraries. Our motto is "literacy is a lifestyle" and our work centers promoting literacy through community events and activities while providing families access to essential resources.
